Mowing tips
Mowing is the most important beauty treatment you can give your lawn. Regular mowing favours the spread and therefore the thickening of the clumps of grasses that make up the lawn. It is also an excellent way of eliminating a large part of the weeds.
What cutting height to adopt?
The lawn must be mown regularly, at a height suited to the intended use of the lawn: the more it is trampled, the taller the grass needs to be left to allow rapid regeneration. In all cases, you should never cut more than one third of the height of the blades each time you mow the lawn.

Generally speaking:
Cut the grass short in spring the first time you mow it and when the grass is growing fast.
In summer, if the weather is hot, leave the grass longer to avoid the soil drying out.
The last time you mow the lawn in the autumn, raise the cutting height to the maximum. All you need to do is level the lawn for the winter.

How to guarantee optimum quality cutting?
To ensure that your lawn looks good, keep the blade sharp. If it is nicked or blunt, it will tear out the blades of grass instead of cutting them.
Outils WOLF are treated so that they are very tough. You can also sharpen them. They guarantee clean cutting without the risk of tearing the grass.

How to mow?

To gain time, there is a method. First mow round the edges of your lawn, then once you arrive back at your starting point, mow backwards and forwards across the lawn.
When you are mowing on a slope, you must be particularly careful and change direction with a great deal of care. Follow the mowing pattern shown below:
Mowing on plots that are too steep (more than 30° or 58%) is to be avoided. In this particular case, we advise you to use a backpack brushcutter with a cutting line.

Should I collect the grass or not?
Unless you are cutting the lawn very short 2 or 3 times a week or using a mulching machine (which transforms the grass into fine particles which fall between the blades of grass), you will need to pick up the grass. In fact, far from turning into fertile compost, cut grass suffocates the lawn. It decomposes and becomes a medium conducive to the proliferation of fungal diseases.
However, during dry periods, when the re-growth rate of the grass is very low, it is possible to alternate collection and recycling by opting for a recycling kit consisting of a safety plug and a special blade.
NB: recycling kits are not universal: they are designed for a specific type of mower.
The result obtained with a recycling kit is not as perfect as with a mulching mower (which has a closed housing specifically designed to obtain this result), but is a satisfactory solution.
