Maintenance of electric hedge trimmers

Prior precautions

  • Your hedge trimmer is an electrical appliance, never wash or clean it with water.

  • Before any routine maintenance operation, switch off the motor and unplug the power cable.

  • For any other intervention than routine maintenance, contact an Outils WOLF approved specialist.

Before each use:

  • Check the condition of the extension cable. If it is defective, replace it.

  • Check the condition of the blades: if used normally, the blades will not need to be sharpened. However, if the cutting system is damaged or shows excessive wear, have the trimmer's blades replaced by an Outils Wolf Approved Specialist.

Systematically after each use:

  • Brush to remove any debris.

  • Oil the blades and the guide rail with a non-polluting lubricant. Be careful not to cut yourself on the blades' very sharp edges.
The addition of oil between the blades means that they slide more easily and limits friction and loss of power.

  • After use, put the hedge trimmer back into its protective sheath, which ideally should be fixed onto the wall.
